Standard & Poor’s leading Home Price Indices show US house prices have improved in the second quarter of 2009.
Even though second quarter results for the U.S. National Home Price Index recorded a 14.9% decline, it was not as severe as the 19.1% decline for the same quarter in 2008. The 10-City and 20-City Composites recorded
annual declines of 15.1% and 15.4%, respectively. These are also better than the respective record losses of -19.4% and -19.1% in 2008.
The cities of Cleveland, Dallas and Denver had the least drop in the home price index compared to last year of 2-3%.
